Population of Bangladesh - "resource" or "burden" ?

Population of Bangladesh- Resource or Burden
-Global population has increased 3 times during last century, while Bangladesh’s population has increased nearly 3 times .Bangladesh is one of the  populated countries. Now the question arises the population is an Asset or Liability ?
Everybody look on the one side of the coin, they see population growth as liability rather than an asset .If we channelize this population in a right way then it will definitely become asset.

Bangladesh is densely populated country. The area of Bangladesh is 1,47,570 square km. Population is almost 16,00,00,000 core. Almost 1127 people per square km. live in Bangladesh. So, from one side population is a big rush for Bangladesh. In the other hand, population is very important sight of a country, that’s why it is asset for us.

“Population is burden because”-

We can measure it from various way. There are so many causes, to say that ‘Population is a curse’
Population more than land
Bangladesh is a land of  1,47,570 square km. Our population is almost 160 million. So the density of population is more than land. Above 1000 people live per square km.
Forests and trees are being destroyed by human
Forest is an important gift by nature. In a country there must need 25% of forest. In Bangladesh the forest coverage has come down to only 9%. People destroying trees and forests to make home, furniture, papers etc.
Food problem
Food is an important basic need of a human’s daily life. In Bangladesh it is bigger problem. Population is growing day by day but food production is limited. People are indebted to live in the land of crops and it harms the cultivation of food.
Education problem
Education is the backbone of a nation. In Bangladesh education is a big problem because of over population. In the rural areas there are less schools than childrens. Most of the people under poverty line. So they cannot let their childrens study easily.
Treatment problem
Another essential basic need is treatment. People are dying every day not to get the proper treatment.
There are less of hospitals and clinics than population. Most of the people live under poverty line, and most of the time they are unable to do treatment.
Environment pollution
Our environment is being polluted every day. Most of the industries established beside the riverside. There dusts are the cause of water pollution. Poor sanitation system also the cause of water pollution.
People are growing in cities and besides number vehicles also increasing, which is the cause of sound pollution. Sound of industries, mills are the cause of sound pollution too. Sulfur dy oxides, carbon monoxides these harmful gases everyday mixing with the air which causes of air pollution. Roadside dustbins also the cause of air pollution.
Imbalance of the environment
Animals, Insects, Trees, Rivers, these things keep the environment balanced. But overpopulation is the cause of decreasing of these elements. People are overlapping the soil on rivers for their living. Cutting trees for many purposes like to make furniture, home, papers etc. Human destroys the forests too. Killing the animals and birds for food or doing illegal business.
Unemployment problem
In Bangladesh about 40% of the population is underemployed.  Government can not do anything to reduce the unemployment rate. Public and private companies are unable to provide jobs for this large number of educated people.
Ethical problem
People are encourage to do thug, steal, snatching as their occupation. Especially young generation involve with that. They involve with drugs and they become addicted. Different kind of difficult diseases occur like, cancer, aids etc.

“Population is resource because”-
Population is not only curse for us. Sometimes it plays a vital role. So, we can say ‘Population also Blessing for us’. Population is an essential element for a countries economy. Our economy is developing day by day because of population.

Economic development
In Agriculture:
Our economy basically based on agriculture. Most of the people live based on agriculture. Rice, jute, tea, sugarcane, cotton, potato etc. these are the mainly important crops of Bangladesh. We export potato, rice, mango, fish and other crops and earn foreign currency.
Manpower:
Sufficient manpower is the cause of economical development. In Bangladesh population is more than other developed country like, Malaysia, UAE, Egypt, Japan, Jordan etc. They take skilled and unskilled both type workers from us.
Garments Industry:
Now a days garments industry is the main pillar of our economy. Lots of men and women work in the garments. So many garment industries established everywhere of Bangladesh. Foreign companies take our cloths and we earn foreign currency
Ship Industry:
Ship industry plays an important role to develop our economy. In this sector too many people work.
Many developed countries take ships at a low price.
Migration:
Over population creates migration. Migration also helps us to develop our economy. From remittance Bangladesh had earned $11.5 million in 2011.

Cultural development
Our divisional traditions also make us rich. Tribe peoples culture and traditions also different. It makes us richer. We are developing in cultural sight because of population. We have proper population, that’s why we can make it.

Political development
Politically we are very strong. Because of population our democracy is very liberal. We proved in 1952, 1971 and 1990 about our democracy strength and population is the cause of that.
