Henry Mintzberg’s model for management roles



Interpersonal
·         Figurehead: Symbolic head who is responsible to carry out some formal duty
·   Leader: Manager is responsible for motivating and providing training his/her subordinates.
·        Liaison: Manager must maintain self developed network and must link with outsiders.
Informational
·         Monitor: Manager seeks and receive variety of information from external and internal environment.
·     Disseminator: Manager transmit information that was received from outsiders or subordinates to the members of the organization
·       Spokes person: Transmit information to outsiders on organizations plans, policies, actions, results
Decisional
·  Entrepreneur: Manager searches external and internal environment to find opportunities to raise or initiate new business opportunities.
·         Disturbance handler: Manager is responsible for corrective actions when organization faces unexpected disturbance.
·         Resource allocator: Manager is responsible for allocating all organizational resource.
·    Negotiator: manager is responsible for representing the organization as major negotiator.
