Administrative structure of Bangladesh
The government organization in Bangladesh can be conceptualized as a two-tier administrative system. They are:-

·         Central secretariat at the national level: The ministries and divisions altogether constituting the central secretariat at the national level is supposed to provide clearinghouse functions. The power ranking: Secretary > Additional Secretary > Join Secretary > Deputy Secretary > Senior Scale Assistant Secretary > Assistant Secretary
·         Field Administration at the sub national level: General administration, delivery of public services, and implementation of development program and so on, are carried out at sub-national levels divisions, districts. thanas (upazilas)- representing the central level ministries and divisions as well as the line departments / directorates attached to the ministries/divisions. The power ranking: Divisional Commissioner (DC) > Additional Divisional Commissioner > Thana Nirbahi Officer (TNO) > Magistrate > Assistant Commissioner
