Scatter Diagram

A scatter diagram is a graph that shows the relationship between two quantitative variables measured on the same individual. Each individual in the data set is represented by a point in the scatter diagram. But the points can’t be connected when drawing a scatter diagram.

Positive correlation: Indicates positive correlation between X & Y; R=1

Possibility for positive correlation: Indicates there may be a positive correlation between X & Y; R=0>1

No correlation: Indicates no correlation between X & Y; R=0

Negative correlation: Indicates negative correlation between X & Y; R=-1

Possibility for negative correlation: Indicates there may be a negative correlation between X & Y; R=-1>0

Peak & Through: It indicates there is no correlation between X & Y. But if the data points are segregated through a straight line from peak or through that it seems there exist a correlation.
