International Licencing and International Franchising


International Licensing
Under a licensing agreement the licensor, leases the right to use its intellectual property—technology, work methods, patents, formulas, inventions, designs, copyrights, brand names, or trademarks—to licensee, in return for a fee.
example: Coca Cola, PepsiCo, McDowell’s etc.

International Franchising
Under a franchising agreement the licensor, leases the right to use its intellectual property—technology, work methods, patents, formulas, inventions, designs, copyrights, brand names, or trademarks—to licensee, in return for a fee.
example: KFC, McDonalds, Subway, Pizza hut etc.
