Minutes

Minutes are the official record of the proceedings or a meeting. It usually shows a concise and accurate record of decisions and resolutions. Minutes may be created by a typist or court reporter, who may use shorthand notation and prepare the minutes later. The items of minutes are:-

  • Name  of  the  Organization;
  • Type  of  meeting (monthly, emergency, special);
  • Place, date, and  time called to order;
  • Name  of  those  attending including guests (used to determine if a quorum is present);
  • Name of those absents and reasons for absence.
There are two types of minutes:-
Minutes of resolution: In this type of minutes, only the resolution passed at a meeting is recorded.
Minutes of narration: Minutes of narration are somewhat similar to a report.
