International Human Resource Management (IHRM)

Simply IHRM is ‘the process of managing people in international settings’. In a broader sense:-
“The process of procuring, allocating and effectively utilizing human resources in an international business is called international human resources management (IHRM).”
IHRM includes typical HRM functions such as recruitment, selection, training and development, performance appraisal and dismissal done at international level and additional activities such as global skills management, expatriate management and so on.
“The HRM issues and problems arising from the internationalization of business, and the HRM strategies, policies and practices which firms pursue in response to the internationalization process” ---- Scyllion (1995)
