On the job training

It is the process of having a person learn a job by actually doing the job with the actual work setting. It includes the following methods-
a)Orientation and Socialization
Orientation is the process by which new employees are introduced to their tasks, colleagues, work groups, superiors in organization
Socialization is the process in which all the employees adopts the existing attitude, standards, values, patterns of behavior that are desired by the organization
b)Job rotation
It is the process of moving a trainee from department to department to broaden his or her experience and identify strong and weak points.
c)Coaching
It is the process in which the trainee works directly with a senior manager or with the person he or she is to replace; the latter is responsible for the trainee’s coaching
d)Apprentice training
It is the process of learning from a more experienced employee or employer. It is a work study training method with both on the job training and class room training
e)Internship
An internship is a special form of recruitment that involves placing a student in a temporary job with no
obligation either by the company to hire the student permanently or by the student to accept a permanent position with the firm.
