Off the job training

When training given to the employees away from their work area is called off-the job training.
Off the job training includes-
A)In house program
This is coordinated and conducted by employee’s organization within a company’s training facility
B)Off-site program
It is conducted by a professional organization, educational institution, firm. It includes-
a)Lecture 
It involves the oral presentation of information on a subject by a expert group of people. With lecture various visual aids such as- charts, maps, handouts are used.
b)Conference
Here group discussions are done with the objective of the clarification and explanation seeking individuals. It involves two way communications.
c)Audio visual
It is the process of exposing trainees to events not easily demonstrable in live lectures with the help of analogy. In this process- Printed materials, Slides, CD, DVD can be used
d)Programmed instruction  
-A systematic method for teaching job skills involving: Presenting questions or facts, Allowing the person to respond, Giving the learner immediate feedback on the accuracy of his or her answers
e)Vestibule/Simulated
Training employees on special off-the-job equipment so training costs and hazards can be reduced.
f)Role playing
Creating a realistic situation in which trainees assume the roles of persons in that situation.
g)Vocational training
It aims at teaching the trainee the skills he/she needs to do a particular job.
