Methods of crossing cheque



(1)General crossing: When the cheque contains two transverse parallel line is known as general crossing. It may also contain the abbreviation like “and co.” and “not negotiable”.
(2)Special crossing: When the cheque contains two transverse parallel and contains a specific bank name on the inside of the lines then it is known as special crossing 

(3)Restrictive crossing: In Restrictive crossing the words 'A/c Payee only' are added to the general or special crossing and then it is typified as a restrictive crossing 

(4)Double crossing: When the cheque contains two transverse parallel and contains two specific bank name on the inside(like X bank to Y bank) of the lines then it is known as double crossing.
